M.2solid-statedriveasabootabledevice.TheM.2solid-statedriveisusedfor“cache”functionandto
supporttheIntelRapidStartTechnology.
ToinstalltheWindows8operatingsystem,dothefollowing:
1.StarttheThinkPadSetupprogram.See“UsingtheThinkPadSetupprogram”onpage103.
2.SelectStartup➙BoottodisplaytheBootPriorityOrdersubmenu.
3.SelectthedrivethatcontainstheWindows8operatingsysteminstallationprogram,forexampleUSB
HDD.
4.PresstheF10keytoexittheThinkPadSetupprogram.
5.ConnectthedrivethatcontainstheWindows8operatingsysteminstallationprogramtothecomputer,
andrestartthecomputer.
6.InstalltheWindows8xmodules.GototheMicrosoftKnowledgeBasehomepageat
http://support.microsoft.com/.Typethenumberofthexmoduleinthesearcheld,thenclickSearch.
7.Installtheregistrypatches,forexampletheEnablingWakeonLANfromStandbyforENERGYSTAR
